Anyone else here had to get appendix removed?

I had to get my appendix removed yesterday sadly, and after some reading it seems like the appanedix helps with maintaining healthy gut bacteria. I am a bit worried that not having one will hinder my recovery

Hi Golden, I hope you’re feeling okay after your appendectomy! I’ve also read that the appendix plays a role in gut health, but I don’t think it’s the main or most important factor in gut bacteria health. You can have very good gut bacteria without an appendix, and I don’t think you should worry about it delaying your recovery. CD may have more info on this but for what it’s worth, I’m confident that you’ll be fine.

I would just make sure to follow the doctor’s recommendations.
